VOLUNTEER
Chamber Music Amici could not survive without its volunteers, from poster distributors, envelope stuffers, and planners of receptions, to community board members. If anything in the list below appeals to you, please send an email to Executive Director Loi Heldt at executivedirector@chambermusicamici.org, and she can explain which opportunities are currently available.
Box Office
Chris Wesley manages the Wildish Theater Box Office the day of concerts.
Educational Outreach
The Education Committee, comprised of Pilar Bradshaw, Amy Goeser Kolb, and Jane McCleery, creates strategies for reaching out to students in the public schools of Springfield and Eugene, and the Eugene Arts Umbrella. The committee’s goal is to help develop a new generation of chamber music lovers.
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee, comprised of Sharon Schuman and Pilar Bradshaw, works with the board and staff to gather the financial support that is critical to our success.
Mailings
Periodic mailings to announce concerts, raise funds, or send out newsletters require three to four hours of stuffing envelopes.
Publicity
Volunteers spend two to three hours distributing flyers and posters in downtown Springfield and Eugene before concerts.
Receptions
Post-concert receptions on stage call for desserts from bakeries or your kitchen, drinks and serving materials, fruit platters, cheese platters, or other goodies. Volunteers are needed to prepare foods, pick up bakery items, and organize reception tables the night of the concert.
Special Events
Our yearly “family” event for core musicians, board, volunteers, and donors requires a location, wine, hors d’oeuvres, and a desire to have fun. Volunteers are needed to plan and produce the event.
Stage Manager
Peter Roberts, veteran DMV administrator and music lover, moves stands and chairs between pieces at our concerts.
Ushers
David Sonnichsen, veteran usher at Beall Concert Hall, brings a steady hand to the task of gathering and leading volunteer ushers at the Wildish Theater.
